SPREADING THE SOUNDS
“The Bollo Brook Youth Centre have a long track record of turning difficulty and disadvantage into creative output and benefit for everyone and, in partnership with the Ealing Music Service, ‘Spreading the Sounds’ will enable young people in all of Ealing’s schools to have the opportunity to access this wonderful opportunity.” – Cllr Julian Gallant – Chair of Ealing Music Strategy Group
Ealing Music Service has joined forces with award-winning partner, Bollo Brook Youth Centre, to offer young people in secondary schools, youth centres and pupil referral units, an exciting new offer, Spreading the Sounds, from Bollo Studios.
Bollo Studios is the creative wing of Bollo Brook Youth Centre, based in West London but working with young people aged 11-25 from across the capital. Bollo Studios works tirelessly to support young people through holistic development and in partnership with organisations across the city and beyond.
Over the past decade, Bollo Studios has constantly challenged young people to aspire beyond what they know, looking to broaden their horizons, both in music and their wider lives. During this time, thousands of young people have visited the studios at Bollo Brook Youth Centre, taking away with them their own recorded music, new skills and attitudes and with increased confidence in their creativity. Many have moved into employment in the music industry, while many others have expressed the transformative role of Bollo Studios in their lives. Click on this 5-minute Spreading the sounds showreel to see and hear from just a few of the thousands of young people that have benefitted from their work.
“I enjoyed the music sessions, they were lit. I enjoyed learning something that I am interested in. I have already recommended the sessions to others.”

Terms & Conditions
I can confirm that I am authorized to commit my school to the following terms and conditions and that I have discussed them with my Headteacher or my line manager, a member of the senior leadership team.
The sessions will require one support worker and must always be provided by the school. This must be someone that has an excellent relationship with the young people.
The 3 sessions during this pilot phase will be free to your school, however, if any of the sessions are cancelled without 10 school days’ notice, the school will be required to contribute £125 towards costs for each 2-hour session, either at the end of or following term of the missed session, which will be invoiced by Ealing Music Service.
Each session will include preparation, transport, circa 1-hour set up / pack down time and a 15-min mid-session break for the young people.
Any equipment that can be provided by the school would be most welcome but not a necessity. Bollo Studios can provide the rest.
This pilot is offered to you on the condition that the:
- co-ordinating member of staff will undertake a mid-project and end-of-project evaluation.
- School agrees for Ealing Music Service and/or Bollo Brook Youth Centre to shoot audio-visual footage during the project with a view to producing a showreel as part of its reporting requirements to its funders. Schools can be supported with letters and consent forms.
Schools that are not able to fulfil these terms and conditions will be charged a contribution of £125 per 2-hour session as a contribution towards our costs.
