Noye’s Fludde – The Photos

On the 5th of July at the ECC theatre in Northfields, Ealing Music Service produced a wonderful performance of Benjamin Britten’s Noyes Fludde featuring pupils from 7 primary schools and a range of players from Ealing Youth Orchestra and beyond.

Noye’s Fludde is a one-act opera by the British composer Benjamin Britten, intended primarily for amateur performers, particularly children. First performed on 18 June 1958 at that year’s Aldeburgh Festival, it is based on the 15th-century Chester “mystery” or “miracle” play which recounts the Old Testament story of Noah’s Ark.

The performance included a string orchestra (professionals and students), handbell team, recorders, brass fanfare, percussion, chorus and soloists, audience participation – as well as the use of projection and set to create a truly memorable performance. Well done to all the performers!
