Charanga ‘Music School’ Licence worth £195

Charanga Musical School is the most significant new Primary music resource for a decade.

It’s a living cloud-based resource that brings together great music, modern pedagogy and the latest educational technology. It supports all aspects of music in school including the new music curriculum, as well as providing children and their families with opportunities to continue learning and exploring music at home through Music World.

A Musical School licence includes individual access for as many teachers in your school as you would like PLUS access for ALL children to Music World online learning. Everything you see below (and more) is included.

Music Support Visit – worth £45

An hour with a member of the EMS SLT to find out ways in which we can support your school or put you in touch with partners that can.

As part of this service a ‘musical health check’ can be carried out on request, Music Health Check, is to review the music curriculum, assessment and extra-curricular opportunities offered across your school whilst aligning this to Ofsted expectations with action points for development.

 

Early Bird Discounts and Priority Booking

As a member you will have up to 50% discount on selected events and also be able to have first access to booking times for events and workshops.

Activities to select – Worth up to £600

 

Music Mark Membership –worth £40

What benefit will membership have for your school?

  • Recognition that music is valued within the school. This recognition from your national subject association for music can contribute to the Ofsted requirement of a broad and balanced curriculum
  • Use of the Music Mark School Member logo. Providing evidence of partnership working with the music service/music education hub
  • Access to exclusive resources created by Music Mark for schools. This will include both practical resources and highlights from the latest research.

 

Network meetings – worth £10 per meeting – £30 in total (per person).

Attendees will be kept up-to-date with local music making opportunities, developments in music education and professional development opportunities. As well as the opportunity to share ideas and speak to colleagues from other schools (we’re all in this together)

1 Network meeting per term for unlimited attendees.

 

Activities for selection – worth up to £350

 

Music trolley CPD

A twighlight or inset day training for up to 2 hours, for small group, 1to1 or whole staff CPD.

Discover what instruments are in your music trolley or cupboard and receive CPD on how to use them correctly and safely whilst receiving ideas on how they can be used in the classroom. A hands-on practical session

 

Have a go session

2 members of the EMS team will arrive to let the children have a go on string, woodwind and brass instruments (or 1 specific group on request) in a controlled and fun way.

Sessions’ can be used as a fun practical workshop for 1 class at a time – but can also be used to target uptake on specific instruments.

 

World Music Festival – 1 half day (terms and conditions apply)

EMS has been organising the ‘World Music Festival’ (WMF) for the last 18 years and it has always been a great success among schools. Originally a way of introducing new and different kinds of music, it has now become a way of encouraging exciting musical activities and keeping music live in schools!

In recent years this as included:

  • Hawaiian Ukulele
  • Junk Percussion
  • Bamboo Tamboo
  • Human Beatbox
  • Taiko
  • Tabla
  • Gamalan
  • Samba
  • Bollywood Brass

 

Live Demo

Up to 3 EMS musicians deliver a 1 hour live demo in your school (this can be split in to 2 half hour demos)

An opportunity for students to get an informative live display from professional musicians.

 

Charanga training session

Charanga training for up to 2 members of staff at a Charanga CPD session at the EEC or a 1 hour training in your school by a member of the EMS team. (no limit on staff numbers)

 

CPD sessions – Worth £35 each (per person)

2 x CPD sessions throughout the year for up to 2 members of staff at one of our specific CPD sessions, details sent to schools throughout the year on these opportunities.

CPD sessions are run by EMS or external partners.

Charanga VIP Licence worth £295

The teachers’ side of VIP is probably the most comprehensive resource ever produced to support the teaching of contemporary music genres. VIP is an excellent tool for KS3, BTEC and GCSE and to encourage more young people to get into music.

The online recording studio also turns every ordinary PC/Mac into a music computer and young people can use it 24/7 anywhere they can get online.

Secondary Music Conference worth up to £200

Free entry for up to 4 members of the school music department to the bespoke Secondary Conference (designed by Ealing Secondary leads themselves).

1 full days cover will be paid for 1 member of staff attending the full day. (only full day attendance will be funded)

GSCE/A Level performance tips

Up to 12 hours of an EMS or partner musician to support GCSE, A Level or BTEC students in their performance – 1 to 1 or ensemble support can be given to support the performance element of the pupil’s exam.

Sessions must be agreed by EMS and the school in advance at times convenient to both school and musician.

 

Accompanist

Up to 12 hours of a professional accompanist, this can be bespoke to your schools need. E.g., GCSE or A level students get rehearsal time with a pianist, or school show rehearsals or performances.

Times must be in agreement with EMS and booked in blocks of at least 2 hours at a time.

 

Ensemble Support

1 term of 1.5 hours of ensemble support. This can be for any ensemble or choir, and can be to lead or support your ensemble.

1.5 hours must be used as one visit on the same day every week.

1 term = up to 10 sessions.

Must be with a quality approved provider in discussion with Ealing Music Service and cannot be used to fund something that already happens in school.

EMS School Membership activities are limited to those described above and are supplied by Ealing Music Service within the following criteria:

  • Supply of any provision is subject to teacher availability and school time availability.
  • This membership is valid for the academic year 2017-18 only.
