ISM Primary Toolkit – Free resource.

The ISM has launched a great new free resource by Dr Ally Daubney on the ISM website.  It is a free practical toolkit for primary teachers to help them understand and try out primary music in their own classrooms.  The toolkit signposts resources throughout.

The toolkit is in six parts that can be viewed online or downloaded:

  1. Introduction
  2. Singing and vocal work (in conjunction with SingUp)
  3. Using musical instruments in the classroom
  4. Composing, improvising and doodling
  5. Using technology in primary music education
  6. Music across the creative curriculum

Ally will also be doing three webinars relating the toolkit. There will be plenty of opportunities for teachers to ask questions if they wish.  It is free to join – to register click

Also available:

“Assessment: Getting it Right in a Week” by Martin Fautley and Ally Daubney.

“Creativity: Getting it Right in a Week” by Martin and Victoria Kinsella

Both books are aimed at teachers across age ranges and subjects and give practical classroom examples for each strategy.
